Calibration or metrological verification?
In short: Calibration restores accuracy; verification officially confirms it. For personal use calibration is enough; if you rely on results officially, you need verification too.
Calibration (adjustment)

- Align readings with a reference so the device measures accurately again.
- Who needs it
- All breathalyzer users – personal and business.
- How often
- Recommended every 6 months, at least once a year.

- An accurate device. No document for official decisions.

Metrological verification
- Purpose
- Officially confirm the device meets requirements.

- Under our procedure – valid for 6 months.

- A verification mark and certificate with validity date.

Why the terms get confused
In everyday speech "calibration" means adjusting the breathalyzer against a reference. In metrology "calibration" has a different meaning and is part of verification. So when booking we always state exactly what is needed: adjustment only, or official verification too.
